Energy and Enthusiasm Wins Daily Challenges

Wouldn’t be great to go through your daily tasks with fresh energy and enthusiasm? Instead of starting your work day with, “Oh gee, I have this to do and that to do. Let me prioritize these items and get on with my day.” Yawn…yawn.

And then you go through the motions and effort to “get the stuff done”. Oh yeah. Such enthusiasm and energy, huh? I mean most of us probably can sleep walk our daily routines. After a few years of this kind of routine we can see the effect this “really disengaged” life can have on us. Just look in the mirror. Botox anyone?

Do you recall how you felt when you first started “your new job”? The challenge and excitement from the new job was great. You were trying and doing your best, right? I mean, like who was counting the hours back then? It was just fun doing the job. Accomplishing the new challenging tasks. Relating and making things happen with your new fellow employees.

You didn’t look at your fellow employees as just some people you were forced to put up with. The customs and culture of the company were something you looked forward to blending with and doing well in.

Most importantly, when your “day was done” and you returned home you still had energy to spare. Yes, you had a personal life with friends and family. And, you had enthusiasm and focus for the special people in your life. Not, “Well gee, I got through another day in one piece. What’s on tv? A few more hours and I go to bed. I can use a drink.”

Wouldn’t it be great if we could turn back the clock and reinvigorate your life with fresh purpose and enthusiasm? Unleash Your Power

Try An Adrenalin rush For Everyday Challenges!

I bet you could use an adrenalin rush! How many times today have you been stepped on? Do you find yourself just going through the motions at work? How much personal frustration are you carrying around? How about that hostility you feel that makes you want to come out with four letter cuss words?
You probably need some rejuvenation. Let off some steam. Get a breath of fresh air. Whatever you do, don’t take it out on your fellow employees, your friends, your spouse, or your children. No and don’t kick your dog.

Take it from a guy who has been there and tried that, you would be better off getting yourself reinvigorated, even if it costs you some extra time and money. What I am talking about is placing yourself in an activity that will get you away from yourself.

Something new, different, and challenging that won’t be detrimental to your health, emotional well being or lifestyle. For example, I threw myself into martial arts. This activity ended up giving me incredible positive benefits in terms of my health, my family, and even my income. That’s right, income. My poise and confidence increased greatly. Being a salesman, my rapport with my customers improved quite a bit, which afforded me more sales and commissions.

Yeah I got that adrenalin rush. Boy did I. Three times a week, I found myself in this arena, shouting, kicking, screaming, and running and jumping around like a nut. But, after the workout I found myself stepping back into the Real World with great relaxation and enthusiasm for life.

I Met Mr. Fear and Won

I Met Mr. Fear and Won

Last night I met Mr Fear. It’s funny now. But, believe me, last night it was anything but funny. Mr Fear came from nowhere. Before I knew it I was in a cold sweat.

Pressure!

The first attack was around 9pm. I was working under a deadline and there were some articles I needed to hammer out and have ready by the following morning.

The subject I was dealing with dealt with a problem that I personally had for many years. Emotionally it was very challenging for me. During the process of trying to finish this writing job, pictures of failure kept flashing before my mind.

That old Black Magic

I was getting hammered, “You can’t do this thing. Who do you think you are?” Stuff like that. I was really feeling like “little me”, if you get my drift.

Before I realized it, it was 11:55 pm and I had only one lousy paragraph written. Sweat began running down my face. Yeah, you have it…I was scarred. Mr Fear, I have no doubt, was really getting off on my situation. Because, he kept giving it to me.

Took a Break

So what did I do? Well, I tell you what I did. I left my desk and walked over to a comfortable chair and stretched out. I did some free dive breathing. That’s right, “Free Diver. If you want to go deep into the water for a good distance, you have to preserve your oxygen. I am talking about diving without an oxygen tank. Yeah, just using your own breath…Counting 1-4-long slow breaths. It slows down the heart rate.

Then I did dynamic positive visualization. I pictured myself “doing” this thing, the project I was trying to finish. Then I said to myself,“The heck with it..just do it”.

I got up from the chair and went back to my desk and started pounding the type keys. Guess what? Before I knew it, I had the ?!!’’-??!!c thing done. And, if I don’t say so myself, this project I did was one of the best articles I had written in a long time.

Keep pushing!

Sometimes, when you are forced to push the edge of the envelope, it pays to just put your head down and blast away. The power of your subconscious normally will provide the end result you want if you don’t hold back and let fear cripple you. I met Mr. Fear and won.

You can use this strategy for just about anything you want to do. I don’t care who you are, depending on your confidence level, there are times when you will be hit with self-doubt and fear. This is what we mean by busting out and leaving your comfort zone. It’s these small victories that add up to giving you a shot at really going after your- larger than life- big goals.
